My Literature and Philosophical Contexts lecturer keeps making fun of me. I suppose I'm a fairly ridiculous person and I enjoy making fun of other people but it's still sort of annoying. I threatened to post-up disparaging caricatures of her around the campus but she talked me out of it.

In other news I wrote a songs about composers:

None can hold a candle to Handel
And Mozart was rather smart
Schumann's surely a shoe-in
With sublime piano-parts

Tchaikovsky's a tad too tetchy
But his ballet work is sweet
Verdi's often heard
Because his music’s rather neat

And Strauss he wrote Der Fledermaus
Bizet swiped the “Havanaise”
He "thought it was traditional"
And warped Yradier’s phrase

It behoved Beethoven
To practice through the night
His hearing gone, he loved the tone
Of sonatas in the moonlight

But never forget Purcell,
Whose operas were a lark
The British restate always that he
Was just as good as Bach

Myself, I’ve neither a favourite
Nor ascribe to classical tastes
For don’t you see, all those woodwinds,
They’re an ecological waste!

I might have used the plectrum if it wasn't so late.
